I have used this product once on my '91 300E and loved the results. Anyone have recommendations for removing the dried wax that gets on non-painted areas like rubber and plastic (door seals, mirror trim, etc.).thanks.

Which Meguiar's product are you using? There are 3-4 lines which they sell. "Mirror Glaze" is the professional line that comes in tan bottles and is numbered. (#7, #26, #34, etc) The "Medallion" line comes in black bottles and is a medium-upper level target audience. There is the "Gold Class" which is ease of use and delivers pro/near pro results. Then there is the more downmarket/mass market line that comes in the maroon bottles.

To remove the dried wax in areas like mirrors/door handles use a 100% cotton terry-cloth that has enough nap to get into the texture. To remove it out from between body panels and such use A) open the door/hood/trunk and buff the edge, B) a Q-tip, or C) thread the 100% cotton removal rag through an area and "floss" it out.

I used #6 cleaner/wax (very light tan bottle) over 1 month ago so will your suggested method still work?

#6 is okay, I prefer the combo of #7 to clean the paint and #26 as a wax. The #26 wont leave any white residue on door handles, trim, etc. If the wax is a month old just do the #7 on the easy to reach stuff and buff after the crevice residue. You can use a toothbrush on the mirror trim but be VERY careful to keep the bristles away from the paint.(they will scratch) The methods outlined in my earlier post should get rid of most of your woes. If you run into anything stubborn just post here and I"ll get right back to you.
