On 3 of my 4 interior door panels I have some small nicks / chunks. (It looks like something may have been fastened with adhesive there by the PO.) Does anyone have a suggestion on a vinyl repair kit / procedure that I can use to fix these? The largest of this defects is probably pencil eraser size if that helps.

Are these nicks/cuts completely through the MB TEX or is the surface just "roughed up" in those spots?

Hard to say. Some are completely through the smooth top surface. Others are small (pencil point sized) and don't seem as deep.

For the cuts I'm sure your local Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-mart, etc should stock a vinyl repair kit. I don't know of a specific brnad of vinyl repair kit offhand. The scuffs are something that you should clean as well as possible, but on the whole, learn to ignore. Just for yucks you could look in the phone book and give a local upholstery shop a call. I have a few ideas, but nothing I'm comfortable saying IS the solution. Give a specialist a call.

Autoparts chains carries the vinyl repair kits (about $12). You mix the color, apply,
then use the supplied little electric iron
to seal and cure the repair. Not a big deal
to use, color mixing will be the key.

I found a nice kit at Wal-Mart from Permatex for under $6. I'll try my hand at color matching and post a followup on the results.

Just wondering how your results were with the Pernatex. I just bought some of this stuff and was planning to use it this weekend. I found a nasty tear on the seat back (Could this be caused by the cold weather?).

I'd call some salvage yards...you might get lucky. When negotiating, offer them very little as interior bits are hard for them to sell. However, if a door is good they won't want to sell just the interior panel.

for M-B Tex repair with "Magic Mender". Their leather repair kit works great with M-B Tex and other high-end vinyls. The best part is that you get a custom-mixed spray paint can of paint that perfectly matched my interior color. I just smeared on the neutral color goo and worried about getting it smooth. Making the color match perfectly was zero effort. This option is a lot more expensive ($50 per kit) than a normal vinyl repair kit, but I have tons of little completed interior repairs now that even I can't locate, now.
