I have an Australian delivered SL500
These were spec'd with 2.65:1 diff ratio. :o eek !
My intention is to use 3.27:1 ratio that was used in the SL280's

1. has anyone done this conversion ?
2. are the differential housings the same ?
3. I presume the ABS & ASR will be upset by the change in pulse speed from the new gears...
- is this correct ?
- if so, how do I over come it ?
4. what (major issue/s) have I overlooked ?

The housing, gears, & axles are different. Also the torque rating is much less. NOT a good idea.

That puts an end to what I thought would be an easy solve.

Were the SL500's specified with a different ratio in other countries ?
