MY ASS!!!!! i feel so stupid cuz i check it for leaks and usually watch it very closely but i didn't so much cuz i jsut took it the the mechanic and he said it was in good shape! *crying very loudly* its my own damn fault cuz it ran super low on oil but now the guy is saying i need a new motor....its a ticking clicking noise....only sounds when on the road and under load. please help me. alabbasi 03-16-2005, 01:58 PM I can give you the name of a couple of shops in Atlanta if you can travel that distance. Sorry I cant help you any more then that. dieselwyldkat 03-18-2005, 04:12 PM i can't...but what's the average for a motor replacement and/or rebuild prices? alabbasi 03-18-2005, 06:20 PM I woulld post that question to the Tech Forum. I am sure that there are a bunch of people there that could give you a more qualified answer. Also, there is an auto salvage called riteway in Alabama. They may be able to help you with getting a used engine rather then a rebuilt one. bwell 12-20-2005, 11:25 AM Anyone know of a good independent shop in Birmingham, Alabama? The dealership there wants around $200 to do a ppi. That seemed a little steep to me, since I only paid $80 for my last one here in Cincy. Thanks. TX76513 12-20-2005, 11:28 AM There are some talented forum members in the Birmghm. area. Maybe see if one will lend you a set of eyes gpgunhouse 01-23-2006, 07:23 PM For a PPI I would suggest Central Auto in Homewood. Bob Parker is the owner (nice guy) . They have been around for many years and are quite reasonable. This is a two man shop (Bob/Terrell) with Bob's brother Jim handling the schedule. 205-870-3146 Cheers Gerard Gunhouse H-townbenzoboy 01-30-2006, 09:29 PM "The Mercedes Doctor" 100 Morrow Ave. Trussvile, AL 35173 (205)661-5880 whunter 10-06-2006, 10:34 PM International Automotive Technicians' Network member directory for the state of Alabama. http://www.iatn.net/dir/usa/alabama.html |
