Hi there. The weather here is just gorgeous and would love to take off the hard top my new, well new to me (3 months), older (1986) MB560sl. I have tried and it seems to get hung up in the back. I know the larger lever unlocks it but the smaller lever does not seem to feel like it is doing anything when I am moving it. Now then again, I am not sure how it really is supposed to feel. Any advice.

I Don't Have A Sl But You Need A Hoist Or Another Person To Do It Right.

I had the same problem with my 88. The levers with the play in them do not open the back lock sufficiently. I moved the hard to toward the back to free the lock. It is quite heavy and you definitely need a helper. I also changed my soft top with a new one and now rarely use the hard-top. I think, for Dallas the soft top is fine. Hope it works out for you.
