Engr693 08-29-2006, 02:30 PM It also doesn't work for vehicles prior to letter designations in the VIN. VIN numbers must have 17 characters for it to work. My 1973 450SL only has 14 digits. The factory build sheet (in English) was on the other hand, correct, and the VMI list was accurate with the warranty claim codes, on the car, and accurately showed the equipment codes, build, shipment,port arrival date and port prep. date, mileage at the time, and time of delivery at the original dealer. Just better and more accurate sources of information in my opinion |
