The radio is Blaupunkt Malibu CR67 circa 1996, thats when the owner's manual was copyrighted anyhow. Its the radio with removable face plate and millions of tiny little buttons. The removal keys are a pair of U shaped prongs according to the owner's manual.
Has anybody got these radio removal keys that I could borrow or rent? The radio doesnt work and I want to replace it with original equipment for my '83 240D.

You could make a pair from a coat hanger... with the face plate removed there are 2 holes/slots on either side... behind those holes are metal tabs that need to be pressed in toward the body of the head unit (all at once)... while doing so the head unit can be slid out forward.
I got a pair that fit my Los Angeles MP74... if you find it doesn't want to come out let me know and I can send them to you.

Thanks, I'll give it a try with narrow coat hanger wire.
or go into an indipendant audio shop, and ask them to remove the radio, or to buy some used keys from them (they usually keep the ones after they install a radio)
Go their for your audio stuff

Can post a pic of a set of tools tomorrow, of Blau removal tools from a Porsche, maybe they'll help.
That or simply drive up to Best Buy or other, offer the guy a few $$ he'll remove it for you.
