Greetings,
Due to the unfortunate loss of the rental timing chain crimping tool I took the plunge and bought one through el paso tools. I also purchased the single row adapter for the oil pump chain. If anyone is in the CT area that is in need of this tool let me know and I'll make the trip out with it. I'm also offering this to any repair shop that is in need.
Sorry to hear about the loss.:(

mcguirjf,
By "repair shop" are you including individuals? What about those not in CT? Would you consider using Paypal (with a deposit)?
Thanks,

Any chance I could pay to have you ship it to Michigan?
I'm desperate here. :D
I will bee needing one soon and I tought maybe a "rental" system similar to what Auto Zone had would work. You pay for the tool complete then upon returning it you get a refund minus rental fee and in this case S&H. I may do this if I can't find one soon. I found one for $225 with the double roller attachment with both attachments it closer to $250 plus S&H.

I haven't given up yet, I was told to try the motorcycle shop, we'll see if that works.
If you do get one I'll be willing to pay a good price to rent it from you.
This could be an oold topic, but im new here so every things new to me.
for those of you looking to buy a timing chain tool (crimper/ press whatever). i found this one, so you can save some money here instead of buying it from el paso tools over ebay.

unfortunately the bits are sold separately
not sure how to post links, copy and paste that if it doesn't work as a click thing.

After months of calls and visits, I finally got my chain crimping tool back!:D After this experience I will only rent my crimper to locals and I will visit them with it to complete the task and take it with me when done. Or you can stop by and visit and perform the repair in my garage.
It took about a year to get this damn thing back! If anyone is in the Waterbury or Danbury, CT area watch out loaning tools to Will Ryans or Pablo.
They listed their garage under the CT repair shops referal section.

Or you could make them put down the full replacement cost as a deposit. That's what I do with my Astoria Flexx gun and it works well. That way, if they decide to keep it or they break it, I haven't lost anything.
