Greetings,

Any good shops for a MB 240D that's running Biodiesel? I'm hoping for regular MB 240D experience as well as issues from running biodiesel. Ideally I'd like a shop in the Bellevue/Redmond/Kirkland area.

I just bought a 1983 240D with 165K miles and am running B99 in it. It's in great shape, and runs well. However there is some slight white smoke at idle when the engine is cold. This is getting a bit worse as I add more miles, as expected with biodiesel.

Since I was going to have a little work done on some minor issues anyway, I was hoping the shop could also replace the fuel lines/filters and show me how to do it in the future.

I've heard of Ernie Schmidt at Automeister II, but that's a little far away. Anybody use the MB repair shop at The Green Car Company in Kirkland?

Thanks in Advance!

I have an '83 300D turbo running biodiesel and used veggie oil (THE way to go!). I had a TERRIBLE series of experiences with GreenCarCo. The bottom line is that they know very little about these cars. If you want to know the details, let me know.

I have a GREAT Frybrid kit designed by Chris Goodwin (who no longer services these cars, but is the best) which Green Car completely f'd up, but Chris managed to fix. With Chris's advice, I took the car to Patrick Vale in Ballard, a long way from me in Issaquah, but well worth it. Patrick is honest, fairly priced and knows his stuff inside and out. His phone is 206-227-6415.

FYI: I joined this forum just on the chance it would save your vehicle from being subject to the Green Car Co.

Weird. I live in Ballard and I'm taking my car (6.3) to Ernie Issaquah. Fill me in on this Ballard guy.

Thanks,

Besides the Ballard guy, does anyone know where to go on the north end (Bothell, Everett...)?

I'm trying to do most of my own wrenching, but I know I'm gonna get into some issues that are just beyond me...
