Is Dan Haner, Haner Motors, on Rosewood, still in business? He was the independant, who took care of the older BMW's and M-B's, that Arcure Motors and later AutoStrasse, wouldn't touch. They were so buzy, it was always crazy trying to get an appt. It used to be Haner-Marron, until his partner, left for Savannah, GA.

No, and no.

I was only posting a possible source, and hoping for local feedback.

If you want some info on this dealer I have been using them...not paying, seriously using them...;) for about 10 years now....bought my C280 from them.

Do a search on W202 A/C and you will see how this dealer has treated me in the past...

Now, I do have to say that I have not used them since they sold and built their new building....just completed about 9 months ago...

Many in the Ann Arbor area will go to the Novi dealer...I myself went to a dealer next to my office which was a hour away as Ann Arbor just ...basically sucked....at everything..

I had the Service Manager grab and tear papers from my hands when his tech handed them to me by accident.....they were "their costs" and when he saw me looking at the paper, he walked up and grabbed it from my hands like a ten year old.....he was let go about a year later.....for many reasons.

Then they would never give any info over the phone....you had to go in to get part numbers and prices...

The sale guys are madly in love with themselves and think that they are doing you a favor by being there.....many MB's in the Ann Arbor area have license frames from Novi, only 30 minutes away and so much nicer....but again....I HAVE NOT BEEN IN THE NEW FACILITY WITH NEW OWNERS....could be totally different crew.....but I h ear people are still going to Novi for sales and repair....my 2 cents

Haner is gone but Ron's Garage is right next door to fill the gap. I'm about to take my car there and I'll report back on what happens. This will be the first time I've taken either one of my MB's to any shop.

Alright, scratch that. Ron's garage can't work on a '93 because they don't have the software for the scan tool. My next alternative is Professional Automotive Techinicians (PAT). They aren't MB specialists but they work on everything from Ferrari's to Honda's. They aren't cheap but they come highly recommended. I tried to get an appointment but couldn't get one soon enough before vacation so I'll report back in a few weeks.

As a former employee of both the Novi and Ann Arbor dealerships, I can honestly understand the stories that have been posted here. There is so much political back stabbing for the almighty dollar it would make your head spin! And I won't mention the sheer incompetence. (OOPS, I guess I did!)
In all fairness, there are a few really good technicians at these dealerships but the trick is getting your vehicle to them and be prepaired to pay the price when they do fix your problem correctly!
Just MHO.
Best regards! Larry

NEW2MB and Larry,

Glad to hear about the updates around Ann Arbor. I find it tragic that there are no decent shops around town, like there used to be. PAT was good, but still not like a dealer. The Independants are few and far between, then? What happened to Dan Haner's Shop?

I was looking for a nice W140 Diesel or V12, and can't find a knowledgeable soul up here in Mid-MI, for the V12's. So I gave up on that, when the local owners have to go to Lansing of St. Clair Shores, for dealer items on their S420, 500's. For Medical reasons, I can't work on them any longer, I can't even pump my own fuel. The local shops are fine for my other cars and they have really tried their best to help me with my situation. Too much for my German Cars, though. There is a place called Rallye Motors, in Midland, but the locals don't go there. That's the way it is.

Best Regards, Paul.
