Hey, I am looking at getting a 280ce and it will need complete paint (silver) and a bit of rust repair (door botoms, a few fender bottoms and some misc bubbles around the car).
I am figuring 2-3k for paint is probably what I'll have to spend (trim, skirts will be removed) but I'd like to get the best work possible for the money.
I have no idea what rust repair would cost, so any help there on cost ideas would be nice.
Anyone know anyone good in the SF Bay Area? I want it to look sharp for a reasonable cost. Thanks.

I have 2 uncles that will do top dollar paint work.
The black mustang with the dent on the hood was done for $1500 as there was no body work or rust work to be done.
(of course the dent happen later on after the paint job was done)

The blue mustang was done by my other uncle for $3k as there was alot of body work and rust work to be done to it.

Looks like nice work. I will be talking to quite a few shops here in the next few weeks.

Hey Zack,
There are lots of not so good body and paint shops in the SF bay area.
But I 'd found one I would really swear by. It's Euro Design, 1168 San Mateo Ave., South San Francisco, Tel. (650)588-1440 They are nearby a CalTrain stop
The owner is Rich Martinez, and he does top flight work, I have used him for the 560SEC as well as a Volvo. His wife's car is a BMW and their shop car is a beautiful El Camino
I don't know if this would work for you though, as I used the shop in connection with Insurance claims when the cars were hit, so all I paid was the deductible.
He's trusted by owners of the high line brands, like Ferraris, Maseratis, BMWs and Benzes.
When I was last there they had in a BRAND NEW Mercedes S55AMG sedan, it was so new it still had the temporary paper license plates on it, an angry wife had scratched it with her keys on every single panel, the entire car had to be repainted, maybe the husband did something that made her really mad

Thanks Jim, all these reccomendations are great. Nate referred me to L.R. Spencer Co. which I think is in Burlingame or somewhere on the Peninsula. They are expensive but do some of the best work. Around Christmas I am going to have to go check out various shops around the Bay and see what I'd be getting for my money.
We got the coupe running this past Sunday so I will be have it towed home this Friday. It is going to need a bit of rust repair on the rear quarters, a new rear body panel, probably a new right front fender and maybe a new hood. After that fresh silver paint and this car will be pretty darn nice.
Anyone else have any shops I should check out? The more the better, I want to see all of my options.
