View Full Version : removing chrome moldings

I have a 1974 2dr chevy caprice classic that i'm restoring. I am trying to switch the chrome side molding from aparts car to this 1 and i don't know how to to take the chrome molding off with out messing up the moldings or the clips. Can some one please help me?

A lot of the old Chevys use a plastic clip that has a butterfly type end on the bottom of the clip. To remove you just push up on the bottom of the moulding and pull the top out. There may be clips with studs that go through the sheet metal too. You may need to remove the nuts behind to get these off.
