I wondered if anyone has heard from or used these two shops.

Star Motors, 7 West 62nd Terrace, Kansas City, MO, 64113
or
Eurosource Autowerks, 1219 Fredrick Avenue, St. Joesph, MO, 64501

I purchased my car from a mechanic at Star Motors, and Eurosource is very close to my home. Just wondered if anyone had experience with these shops.

I don't know about Eurosource. I haven't been to the other one in many, many, years. Too many changes in personel to suit me.

See Kurt (formerly a MB dealer tech) @ Heart on Wornall Rd, or Hafkemeyer Motors. Both top notch.

EDIT: As of May, '07, Kurt is at Star Motors. He a an experienced, honest, and capable ex-dealer tech.

I'll second dudley's postive opinion of Kenny at German Imports Specialists. He did much work on my 380SL during the two years I was stationed at Fort Leavenworth -- fixed a whole history of mistakes made by previous owners' mechanics. Knowledgeable and fair.

Executive Auto in Blue Springs works on mine, my fathers two, and my brothers SDL's. All he works on are Mercedes. He is very, very, honest. We have been taking our Benz's to him for about 15 years now. In fact, if he was not around, I would sell mine! 816-224-3663.

Have been taking my '97 582i to Hafkemeyer for four years. Would not have kept it this long but have found this repair shop very honest and very competent. I am sure any MB owners will be happy with their work as well.

I had a very good experience with Star Motors in Brookside. Read my post under Kansas City, Mo.

I did have a bad experience with my 84 318i at German Import Specialists. I paid him almost 1000 dollars to do some work for me. It drove home fine but the next time I tried to start it it idled REALLY rough, and wouldn't say running. The timing was way off and I managed to get it back up there (only a few blocks from my house) and they immediately told me what was wrong and that it would be another grand or two to fix it. Apparently the valves in my head were all bent up and would need to be replaced. Though, I'm not sure if they were related, I never went back.

Though, Kenny did refer me to Star Motors in Brookside for repairs on my 300SD, who I had a great experience with. So they've redeemed themselves to me at least.
