I just recently purchased a 1976 240d mercedes benz , when i bought the car Isaw the guy start it once and me myself . I dont know how to start it . I have had it since monday and cant start the darn thing! help please:(

Do a search for "Gorilla Knob".

Pull out to first detent , watch the "Salt Shaker" (center lower dash) but above
the steering wheeel column turn red,pullout to the second detent ...
hopefully it'll start.

Turn the key on before performing the above steps.
