Why is silver star bad in Eagle Rock? I am within walking distance of them. I have never bothered to go there.

Glendale too eh?

Silverstar: wanted to replace vacuum pump with NEW. quoted verbally to my wife. When she came to pick it up price was increased by several hundred $ and they installed a rebuilt pump which alrealy leaked 2 months later.
A few days after picking up the car, car overheated and smoked. I opened the hood and found the large radiator hose completely disconnected, all coolant leaked out.

J & J would not give a written estimate, repaired things we did not ask and did not repair the transmission that we did ask for. Poor English, kept the car for 4 days. Did not ask for authorization then became rude when confronted. Very poor communicator. Car started dieseling for the first time upon leaving his shop.

Both of them were !@#$@#$ing around with the rough shifting transmission and had no clue.
Enrique in Tarzana immediately found that it was not conneceted to the vacuum system at all.

Did you find anyone good in the area.

I went over to Silverstar just once and asked them for a fuel filter since ETYparts up the street wasn't open and they hadn't a clue what I was talking about. I dismissed them and haven't given them a glance since then.

That is very shady how they scammed you with the vaccum pump. That is not surprising how they charged you for junk while not fully completing the work! That's ridiculous. I feel much more secure with my existing mechanic Europa Motors in Santa Monica which is well worth the drive! I had my vaccum pump crack on me last year and I am glad I didn't bring it to silverstar.

I won't touch any of the shops in Glendale with a 20 foot pole. I think they have spilled over to Eagle Rock which is sad.

Do you use Enrique now?
