All of the auto shops say the paint is very expensive. Is there a cheaper alternative that is at least close to the original color? Its light blue, kinda metallic almost.

I'm interested in the answer to this question too. I need to repaint the whole car, or at least the hood and top. EdmondsAve 04-08-2007, 11:51 PM you will probably need to repaint the entire car. every body guy i know has told me that itll look like hell cause it wont match, since the original is faded. look closely above the door hadles and you can probably see small cracks in the paint/clearcoat already. just get it totally redone. its worth it. Have them mix up the correct paint from the MB paint code. They may also be able to color match faded paint. Expect to pay maybe $40/qt. tobybul 04-09-2007, 01:04 PM You did not state what you want to paint. Are we talking touch-up or more than that. Sherwin Williams Automotive paint store will mix the color based on the color code of the car. You will find the color code on the nameplate under the hood. They actually knew where to look for it when I brought the car to the store. They could only put it in a pint can, not an aerosol. I think it cost me $16. Mine was smoke silver 702? that I used for touch up. vstech 04-09-2007, 02:58 PM tobybul do you have a pic of your car? I think I have smoke silver too. very faint gold tinted sliver color.
