I've found a used 'Century pow'r-mate 100' wire welder with bottle and regulator for sale locally cheap.

Is this welder any good for light duty auto body work?

He's asking $200 for the package.

Anyone familiar with this welder?

Should be fine. Welding cars doesn't require anything heavy duty by any means.

It should be ok for "auto body" but is certainly not the unit for parts such as suspension.

I'm more concerned about its ability to produce a clean weld on thin stock. (rust repair sections of fenders, pans...)

Not too much about the duty cycle.

I missed out. Now its either $280 for a Campbell Hausfeld (sp) or spring for the $480 Hobart 140. Both have regulator, valve. The CH has a front panel polarity switch.
Still have to buy a bottle and gas for an additional $170.

I can get you a handeler 125 (NOT THE DAM EZ), but just the handeler 125 which has been discontinued, for about $300... NOT INCLUDING SHIPPING!!!
Conversion kit's $60, dunno on bottle costs.

I can hook it up, I work retail and have the new-found authority to balance product status between stores.

PM me if youre intreasted, and I can see what's up for avalibiltiy

Let me know, its a fine welder (i own one)

The Hobart 140 is here. Very nice! I've already practiced on some 20 ga metal welding up holes.
Good control even with the supplied .030 flux core wire. I can't wait to get the gas set up.
