Hi, I've finaly got my APS30 working in the car, pulling 7 satellites etc., but the trouble is, the GAL signal is not recognized (pin A1).

The A connector is fully populated, but this is a CANbus car, so the C connector has a twisted pair in it too (C1/C2). So, is the GAL signal s'posed to come over CANbus or connector A? ... and if I have both, does it matter or do they interfere? ie: should I pull wires from the A connector?

Speed of sound worked just fine on the Audio10 this replaces, and the cluster display shows RDS info, so I think the CANbus works ...

Any advise appreciated,

PS: I'm working off the BE4720 install PDF - anyone have any BE4716 documentation? ... it seems some set-up options don't apply ...

I've seen on other postings that the GAL signal in the sill is a green/black wire on a facelift W210. The wire I have in A1 is a red/black wire ... does that mean anything?

I've noticed the volume change with speed doesn't work either. Hardly surprising, but at least it's consistent.

Is there an easy way of testing the GAL signal? Anyone know the specs on this if I were to check it with a 'scope?

The Audio10 that was in there before had volume control from the steering wheel (ie: CANbus works) and the volume change with speed worked (but does this GAL come over CANBus and the APS30 needs A1 to be different?).
