1984 190D. I removed the grills but I don't see how the speakers themselves are mounted to the dash. Do they just lift out? And just how would the replacement speakers be mounted?

I'm used to there being mounting tabs on the edge of the speaker frame that screws go thru to mount to the dash/deck/door. But there are none apparent on the stock MB speakers. It's almost like they are "bonded" to the dash.

I don't want to pry them out without knowing what damage I might do.

a search reveals that 123 chassis, the dash speakers are pryed out.

Will this work for the 201 chassis?
