Ok, so it didn't sell. Now it's for rent.

The terms (for new members):

$250 full replacement value as a deposit up front.

When I receive it back, clean and in good working order, I'll refund the unused balance.

$25 for every 2 weekends.
$? actual shipping cost and insurance (no "handling")
$? actual return shipping cost and insurance
(You must insure it. If you don't and it's damaged in shipping, it's your responsibility.)

The refund should be about $210 for 2 weeks, $185 for 4 weeks, etc.

By the way, if you want to also rent the crimper, the deposit on that is $120 and the rental fee is $10 for every two weeks.

Note: For veteran members, the deposits are 50% the above posted amounts.

I rented Brian's flexx gun. Once I had the gun it took me 30 minutes to put all 4 boots on. Brian was great. Shipped the tool right out, transaction using paypal was smooth.

Mr. Perkhouse,

Please advise when I might be able to rent your Flex tool. My baby is all jacked up (on blocks indefinitely in my garage) and waiting for me to replace cracked/torn cv boots...

Thanks!

Do you know what model this is? Is it possibly the Astoria 2000 FB5000PK? I discovered that I have a torn boot and the other 3 are cracking. I might just buy one to avoid the wait.

Disregard the diy stuff. It looks pretty simple once you remove the half shaft.

... with the boot tool.
I did it the hard way. used a farmers 50 ton press (and it needed much of that) then to put it back together I wrapped the axle in plastic and put it in the deep freeze overnight, heated the spider thingy in the oven, greased the shaft a bit and put it in the vise, and took about 5 or 6 good swats with a sledge to drive the spider back on the shaft. It all worked out, but holy crap I would certainly use the boot tool if I ever have to do that again!

Brian,

Is the gun still available for rent?

Jarmo,

Yes, it's available right now. If you'll send me the $250 deposit via PayPal in the next day or two, you should have it by the weekend. If you need the clamp crimper, the deposit for that is an extra $120.

You can probably use something like end cutting pliers just as well and they only cost around $10 (http://www.amazon.com/Irwin-Channellock-7-Inch-Cutting-Plier/dp/B0000BYDYD/)-$20. Just don't squeeze harder than necessary to crimp it good.

If you're still interested, PM me and I'll give you my (PayPal) email address.

Thanks,
Brian
