Hey guys, I'm a newbie and have been searching for a w123 or w124 for a while. While I really want to avoid used car lots, there's actually a vehicle at a used car lot in eastern PA I'm looking at. Anyone hear of Fuzzy Dice Auto Sales? They're in Harleysville, PA, and have a few MB in stock, in addition to some American classics, etc. They don't seem to know a lot about older MB's, (i.e. they list their w123s as a 6-cylinder diesels) but anyways, I wonder if any of you have dealt with this place in the past? Ever hear of them? I'd appreciate any input!

get a pre-purchase inspection from a local indy mechanic- prolly about $100, well spent

That's good advice whether you're buying from a dealer OR an individual.

One of my best friends bought his first car, a used 1965 Chevrolet Corvair, from a used car dealer called "Harmless Harry".
I ask you.
Needless to say it was the worst Lemon he ever had.
In the same East Oakland, California neighborhood (yeah, another mistake):D was a competing used car dealer named "Earnest Ernie's Used Cars".
I did NOT make this up.:D

Not all used car dealers are shady characters. After all, most of them buy cars at an auction where they take a greater risk on a pig-in-a-poke than the folks they sell them to. Most of the time they are just betting on enough sales volume to outweigh their outgo. Buying from an individual can be just as big of a gamble sometimes.
Just take this into consideration and realize that a thorough pre-purchase inspection from someone with more experience on the model you are interested in is your best bet against it.
