Several members have requested that we allow videos such as YouTube to be embedded into posts. We're going to give it a try and see how it goes.
Please note that at this time you cannot embed videos into posts in any forum except the Video Forum.
Let us know what you think. If you think the video forum is a good idea then we'll keep it.
How to embed YouTube videos:
It's pretty simple.
All you do is copy the URL for the video into your post. It will automatically be converted into a video with a title, controls and the opening picture.
For example, to embed the video into my post below I simply put the following URL into the post:
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=Hc3Sotekb80
Do not try to preview your post because you will not see the embedded video anyway and it will mess up the title at the top of the embedded video. Previewing it will place URL tags around the URL that are not needed.
NOTE - You can only link to videos on approved sources.
These are the approved sources so far:
YouTube
MySpace
Google Video
iFilm
Meta Cafe
Yahoo
Daily Motion
Amazon
