Reminds me of an episode of The Simpsons from about 10 years ago. Funny that the ominous Starbucks presence has been around that long. Bart goes to a mall and passes a store that says Starbucks coming soon. He goes into a store to get his ear pierced, and "Sarcastic Middle Aged Man" tells him "hurry up, in 15 minutes, this is gonna be a Starbucks", so then Bart walks out, ear pierced, with a cup of coffee, and by this time, the whole mall is nothing but Starbucks stores.

Starbucks is an amazing company - a genuine phenomenon in our age. If they didn't make the money, they wouldn't be able to grow like they're doing.

Yes, it blows my mind when I see how many there are, how close together they are, and that they have a LOT of competitors! Who is drinking all of this coffee?!

That was a really funny skit, but its a little dated since Starbucks is actually having some problems lately with sales and competition from McDonalds. It is experimenting with smaller sizes and lower prices:
