View Full Version : "Reincarnation" of a Mercedes - MB commericial Jim B. 02-06-2008, 04:27 AM Very emotional. The car watches its life pass before it. YouTube - Reincarnation - Mercedes-Benz Commercial Dee8go 02-06-2008, 10:13 AM That was pretty cool, Jim! H-townbenzoboy 02-06-2008, 04:48 PM I remembered we had a discussion over this a few months ago, and I thought for technicality's sake, the poor car should've come back as a W211. The evolution of the models went W114/115 -> W123 -> W124 -> W210 -> W211. The W204 is a spur of the W201, which is the daddy of the C-class. Dee8go 02-08-2008, 10:50 AM Maybe the reincarnation class depends upon how well the car ran during it's previous life . . . . imagesinthewind 03-27-2008, 07:56 PM That was kinda sad actually. . . poor car. Lunagen Labs 03-27-2008, 08:15 PM That's amazingly well done. Nearly made me shed a tear for an inanimate object. Then again, I can't remember a Mercedes commercial that wasn't top notch. cg487 05-20-2008, 03:51 PM That has to be one of my favourites off all time! JimFreeh 06-07-2008, 10:21 AM I've owned W114/W115 cars for decades, and this commercial still brings tears to my eyes, whenever I see it. I can really relate to it.... Makes me want to keep my 71 black on black 250C forever! I've got pictures of my daughters standing in front of some of the old 220Ds when they were just a few years old, now they are in college.... Or sitting in the driver's seat..... Jim Fulcrum525 06-07-2008, 03:38 PM :bigcry: Thats why I have every intention of NEVER selling my SDL Strife 06-13-2008, 01:28 AM I don't think that a car has a soul, but it is an inseperable part of and represents the work of the people who designed it, built it, owned it, and repaired it. In any event, this was a very emotion-stirring commercial. DieselClack 06-13-2008, 12:06 PM There was so much effort and time carefully put into each Mercedes Benz and these cars were built to a standard and not a price. That to me is what gives them a soul! You rarely see owners getting their pictures posing with anything else.:D TylerH860 06-13-2008, 08:49 PM Personally, I would be pissed if I was a w115 and came back as a C class. I'd expect to be at least an E!:D johnathan1 06-13-2008, 08:58 PM I remember seeing that commercial on TV a few years ago...I thought it was one of the best commercials ever...and still do! Fulcrum525 06-14-2008, 01:06 AM Personally, I would be pissed if I was a w115 and came back as a C class. I do remember that in one of the brochures for the W123, it was dubbed as a "compact car" so going from there, the W114/W115 is also a "compact" car based on 70's or 80's standards. I guess that is where the link to the C-class comes from, even though my initial reaction was similar to yours. dasauto 06-18-2008, 06:19 PM cool ad 300SD81 06-27-2008, 01:40 PM I'm never selling my current SD. When I get the new one, I'm pouring a concrete slab in the back yard and parking it under a tarp until I have the money to get it restored. Also, the W126 was classified as "midsize". Despite being 6 feet wide and 17.34 feet long. |
