I have a Porter Cable Random Orbit Polisher that I am willing to rent out to others.

Is there any interest? Anyone want to use one before they buy it? Anyone need it once to remove swirls, then handwax for a while?

Let me know, as I am on the fence about renting/lending it out.

I was always under the impression that those power buffers were the SOURCE of swirls. What does one of those cost anyway, Jason?

A Porter Cable random orbital does not cause swirls. It has a clutch built in that causes it to just jiggle if you press down with any pressure.

A direct drive rotary buffer, on the other hand, will burn through your paint to bare metal as soon as you can say, "damn it".

It costs approximately 120ish bucks. Thats why if someone wants to try it out before purchasing one, I am more than happy to help out.

I guess that's what I was thinking of. Maybe I''l get one of those. My arms get tired faster than they used to.

I have the Porter Cable Random Orbital polisher, which I purchased from Meguiars years ago, but Meguiars has just released a new machine, which is what I would purchase now:

Thanks, Paul. Maybe I'll get one of those. I was very impressed when I read Bella Machina's posts and looked at the quality of their work.

Yes, it's a nice machine, and I'm going to buy one, too.

The advantage for this machine is that it has been designed exclusively by Meguiar's for polish paint.

The Porter Cable machine is a machine that was designed to sand floors originally.

You can't go wrong with the Meguiar's products by the way. They have the most complete line of paint polishing / cleaning / protecting than any other company by far.

And what's more, I've used them for so long that I know I can get good, repeatable results.

I Like that Meguiars machine! It looks just like the Griot's Garage brand polisher, except yellow instead of red.

I have been considering the Griot's polisher kit ($200 +/-) because it comes with a DVD along with pads, wax, ect. but mainly the DVD.

Does Meguirs offer a kit or DVD?

They're probably made by the same factory for both companies.
