Chad300tdt 02-28-2008, 11:48 AM I saw a link in my youtube google gadget for beatbox and was pretty amazed when I saw how far it's gone since my memories of when Dougy Fresh was a phenomenon.:)
Then: Fat Boys

Dee8go 02-28-2008, 12:50 PM Wow, those guys are good!
Jordan G 02-28-2008, 12:59 PM Dunno.....maybe I'm getting too old but that roxerloop dude kinda freaked me out.
I wanted to dance when the Fat Boys were on the mike.
Dee8go 02-28-2008, 01:05 PM They reminded me of that guy on the Police Academy movies who could make all of those sound effects with his mouth. I'll bet he drove his familiy nuts when he was growing up.

LOL. Roxorloops is a bit freaky.
Here's a battle. I believe these are the two top ranked beatboxers in the world right now.

By the way, I'm not a beatbox fanatic or anything, I just saw a link and was stunned in the same way as when I saw the Police Academy guy.:D
Jordan G 02-28-2008, 01:27 PM That reminds me of the family guy clip I saw on youtube before with Micheal Winslow (I can't find it now - but funny stuff).
Not a beatboxin' fanatic? Riiigght. You were probably holding the digital cam at the world championship for that clip:) I think there is a world championship for everything, I really do.
Dee8go 03-03-2008, 11:59 AM I never even heard of that before I saw it here, but those guys are really good at what they do. It's kinda like the modern equivalent to the singing that is called "scat."
Chad300tdt 03-03-2008, 02:24 PM Here's a beatboxing Ian Anderson:)

Dee8go 03-03-2008, 03:23 PM These guys just blow my mind! He's making ALL of those sounds with JUST his mouth?
300EVIL 03-04-2008, 09:02 PM YouTube - Beatboxing Parrot!
Dee8go 03-07-2008, 11:03 AM I love that Parrot! I bet he could drive you crazy, though, if he was there all the time doing that.
OldPokey 03-07-2008, 02:23 PM We used to have a parrot that would whistle bits of Beethoven, curse, make coughing noises like someone with emphysema, and then laugh uproariously. That was enough for me!
Dee8go 03-07-2008, 02:30 PM That's great. A pet store in Alexandria that I used to go to a lot had a pair of Rainbow Macaws that were beautiful. I don't remember if they talked or not. They were huge birds.
Yours sounds pretty cool, but I guess that could get old after a while.
R Leo 03-07-2008, 02:55 PM Before Bride and I married, she had a pair of scarlet macaws. They were a howl...in addition to a pretty decent vocabulary, one would mimic the sound of a squeaky screen door opening and slamming shut. As a baby, the other had been placed in front of the TV for entertainment. It would mimic the background voices and laugh track of sitcoms. Disturbing to say the least to wake up in the middle of the night to hear voices in the other room.
I always wanted to train a hyacinth macaw (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hyacinth_Macaw) to say 'Here, kitty, kitty" when it saw a cat.
Dee8go 03-07-2008, 04:53 PM That's pretty funny, Randy. If you went off for a couple of days and left your birds there, anyone considering breaking in might hear them and think twice about it. Of course, if they could talk, AND shoot reasonably well, they'd be prepared for any eventuality . . . .
