View Full Version : Mods you've done... MTUpower 03-16-2008, 06:17 PM What have you done to your car? ForcedInduction 03-17-2008, 02:22 AM See the signature. :) Bajaman 03-17-2008, 12:27 PM Nothing... Yet :) TheDon 03-17-2008, 12:29 PM Vogtlands waiting to be installed with HD Bilsteins Boost is at 13.5 PSI 15" wheels(gives a wider selection of performance tires) Boost guage, wants a pyro and voltmeter Dee8go 03-17-2008, 12:30 PM I've been wondering what's involved with adding propane injection and how much of a boost it would give you. I haven't done anything to mine so far. Jordan G 03-17-2008, 12:44 PM This boy doesn't like to kiss and tell (per the thread title) but.... Hattie was drunk though, he probably doesn't remember. This is the gayest thing I've ever said online. Not that there is anything wrong with that. No significant mods to the 240d yet though. Kind of an oxymoron, I suppose. Dee8go 03-17-2008, 02:34 PM Wtf? Dee8go 03-17-2008, 02:35 PM God, am I slow! Okay, I get jokes . . . . sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to process. Good one Jordan! Jordan G 03-17-2008, 03:25 PM God, am I slow! Okay, I get jokes . . . . sometimes it takes a few minutes for them to process. Good one Jordan! No problem. I suppose you were too distracted in narcissising over Kamil's new pics? Is narcissising a word? I just made that up. I would have said that over in his thread but I don't want to encourage him. Sorry for the hijack MTU - it's a good topic for a thread, I apologize for temporarily derailing it. Dee8go 03-17-2008, 03:27 PM Making up new words is no sin here . . . I know I shouldn't have encouraged him. I came to my senses and stopped after a couple of replies. lietuviai 03-30-2008, 08:42 PM I brought mine back from the dead. I made a dead car run again. That's the best modification you can do on something like that.;) bgkast 03-31-2008, 02:36 AM I hope to have my new variable geometry turbo up and running in a few months. turbobenz 03-31-2008, 02:52 AM Just tweaked the alda on both cars, nozzles on the sd. Soon I will intercool the 300sd Deni 04-23-2008, 04:44 AM My "mods": Boost + egt gauges. Boost controller (boost set to about 13.5psi but jumps to about 14.5 psi with lpg activated). LPG injection (starts injecting at about 12.5 psi). 1 1/4 turns on the full load screw and max rpm set to about 6000 rpm. In the near future: Water injection, pre and post turbo. Tuning the lpg injection to be proportional to boost. ForcedInduction 04-23-2008, 09:40 AM Water injection, pre and post turbo. If you like your turbo you should make that post injection only. Deni 04-23-2008, 11:03 AM If you like your turbo you should make that post injection only. Did you check out the discussion at the super turbo forum? ForcedInduction 04-23-2008, 11:10 AM Did you check out the discussion at the super turbo forum? What forum? (BTW, I've notice posting has dropped off quite a bit since they banned most of their key posters.) Pre-turbo injection will be like sand blasting your compressor blades. 130,000rpm wheel + liquid contact with the blade edges = wear. Deni 04-23-2008, 11:18 AM Are you banned on schuman automotive forums? Well the idea is that only a small nozzle would be used pre-turbo. The smaller the nozzle the finner the mist. Then I plan to inject it just outside the air filter box, the water has a longer time to evaporate. I was thinking of a ~60cc/min nozzle pre-turbo and ~300-400 cc/min nozzle right after the turbo. ForcedInduction 04-23-2008, 11:27 AM Are you banned on schuman automotive forums? Since 02/23/2008 When Henry went on a childish rampage and banned 5 of his top posters because he does not understand how copyright works. Sorry. The administrator has banned your IP address. To contact the administrator click here Any water injection at all pre-turbo is a bad idea. Deni 04-23-2008, 11:30 AM Since 02/23/2008 When Henry went on a childish rampage and banned 5 of his top posters because he does not understand how copyright works. That SUCKS! One less forum I can check while at work :(. Who else is banned? ForcedInduction 04-23-2008, 11:36 AM Who else is banned? winmutt, me, bgkast and Tymbrymi were all banned within 24hours, TheDon lost his moderator powers a few days later and Brian Carlton was banned a LONG time ago. http://www.destructoid.com/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/banstick.jpg bgkast 04-23-2008, 12:05 PM Well the idea is that only a small nozzle would be used pre-turbo. Ever hear of waterjet cutting? TheDon 04-23-2008, 12:39 PM Ever hear of waterjet cutting? I think that is what Surf n Turf's stainless steel shop uses... its crazy! rrgrassi 04-23-2008, 01:10 PM Waterjets use water and a cutting media. We use finely ground garnet. No mods yet, unless you include installing a working CD/radio. 240Demon 04-23-2008, 06:38 PM I have a straight-pipe side dump...and LPG injection is in the works... babymog 04-23-2008, 09:53 PM Has anyone tried pre-turbo water injection? Steam shouldn't hurt a turbo, it gets some steam already along with soot etc. The "cool" part of water injection pre-turbo is that steam has a 1:16000 expansion rate, could make for some extra fast spool-up and boost with 900*F exhaust if upstream enough. Plus cooling the charge slightly, I've been considering it also. ForcedInduction 04-24-2008, 01:29 AM Water droplets contacting the wheel is not good. |
