I've been wondering what's involved with adding propane injection and how much of a boost it would give you.

I haven't done anything to mine so far.

Just tweaked the alda on both cars, nozzles on the sd. Soon I will intercool the 300sd

My "mods":

Boost + egt gauges.

Boost controller (boost set to about 13.5psi but jumps to about 14.5 psi with lpg activated).

LPG injection (starts injecting at about 12.5 psi).

1 1/4 turns on the full load screw and max rpm set to about 6000 rpm.

In the near future:

Water injection, pre and post turbo.

Tuning the lpg injection to be proportional to boost.

Water injection, pre and post turbo.

If you like your turbo you should make that post injection only.

Pre-turbo injection will be like sand blasting your compressor blades. 130,000rpm wheel + liquid contact with the blade edges = wear.

Well the idea is that only a small nozzle would be used pre-turbo. The smaller the nozzle the finner the mist.

Then I plan to inject it just outside the air filter box, the water has a longer time to evaporate.

I was thinking of a ~60cc/min nozzle pre-turbo and ~300-400 cc/min nozzle right after the turbo.

I think that is what Surf n Turf's stainless steel shop uses... its crazy!

Waterjets use water and a cutting media. We use finely ground garnet.

No mods yet, unless you include installing a working CD/radio.

I have a straight-pipe side dump...and LPG injection is in the works...

Has anyone tried pre-turbo water injection? Steam shouldn't hurt a turbo, it gets some steam already along with soot etc.

The "cool" part of water injection pre-turbo is that steam has a 1:16000 expansion rate, could make for some extra fast spool-up and boost with 900*F exhaust if upstream enough. Plus cooling the charge slightly, I've been considering it also.

Water droplets contacting the wheel is not good.
