Contemplating the DIY route (if do-able) for this task but have a few Q's:

What is the best source for replacement assembly (without getting gouged);
Should one stay with OEM or are there reccommended after-market options;
Are there brighter lamp assemblies available other than those high-end Xenons;
How long would such a project take for an average person;
Does task require special tools and are diagrams available;
Anything one should be leery of or outright avoid?
Appreciate recommendations and constructive input.
