I currently have a set of Michelin MXV4 Energy's on my 94 S500. They need to be replaced in about 5000 miles. I'm looking for quieter set of tires which ride more comfortably. What do you recommend?

The Energy MXV4 is about the best you can buy. You can also try the "Energy MXV4 Plus". It is a slightly newer design. Theoretically it is improved. What is your complaint with the ride quality of your S500 now? The Michelin MXM is another good choice. You will not get the treadwear of the MXV4's but it is still a good tire. The Pirelli P6000 S.V. will have the characteristic Pirelli noise. You can try the Bridgestone touring tires... I'd definitly avoid the Conti's. They are quiet (no more than the MXV4) but they don't ride as well and handle like a greased pig.

Hope this helps...Lee

Thanks for the info. The ride quality is great but I was just wondering if there was something maybe a little bit better out there. I'm very happy with the Michelins. They're a lot better than the Pirelli's before. Those tires developed a flat spot for some strange reason.
