Why are you selling just 2 months after buying? What are these "needed" repairs that are "not needed"? Did you get any maintenance records or manuals with this auction car? What's the condition of:

Paint
Chrome
Glass
Wheels
Tires
Engine
Transmission
Suspension
Heat/AC
Guages
Interior

Thanks,

I am selling because I decided this is not the type of car that I need right now. I am looking for something a little sportier like an SEC or a 6 series BMW.

The only repair is the heater control is not functioning which I was told by a trusted mechanic is due to a faulty center panel (one with the controls for climate control, sunroof, antenna, etc.) which needs to be replaced. This can be found for around $100 at a junk yard.

The paint has a few small chips which have been touched up but aren't very noticeable. The wheels are in great shape except the right rear wheel is missing the bronze star logo in the middle (I haven't seen these type of wheels on other similar models so I don't know if they are stock or not). There is one small star ship in the front window of the far passenger side. I believe the tires are Michelin touring tires with 80% tread left. The engine runs very strong but the idle is set a little low (around 600 rpm and it needs to be 750 rpm) so it shakes a little while idling but I have a cd repair and a manual the explains this task and it looks very easy. The transmission is fine and shifts at the right times but is not as smooth as a new car (to be expected for 18 year old car with 200,000+ miles, but it shifts smoother than my mom's Taurus). Suspension seems fine to me but I am not a suspension kind of guy. I have looked at it and nothing seems out of place or missing or broken. AC blows very cold and heat problem is stated above. All gages function properly and look very good. The interior looks like it is 18 years old. Front seats show some wear with a 1 inch tear in driver seat that is along a seem so it could easily be stitched back together. The wood trim on the doors is cracked in a couple places and someone who cares about that kind of thing would want to replace that but again no more than $20 a piece at a junkyard. The carpet both front and back is in great shape. I upgraded the stock stereo to a Pioneer CD head unit with 4 pyramid 3 way 4x6 speakers in stock openings.

If you have any picture requests, please e-mail me at brockley@pacbell.net

The mechanic I took it to who specializes in Mercedes' was impressed with the condition of the car and thought it was worth around $4000 even with its few minor problems.
Thanks.

I have been told the heater problem has to do with a seized monvalve that I just ordered the replacement for and will be repairing when it come tomorrow or thursday. If this works then the only problem with the car will be the two back door wood tri panels which is very very minor for a 17 year old car.
This car would make a great entry into the luxury car sect and especially into the Mercedes sect with such a classic model at such a great price. Even though it is a 1984, it still looks 5-10 years newer since the exact body style was used at least through 1989-90.
brockley@pacbell.net if interested. thanks.

sadly the car was totalled in an accident last april or may so it is in a junkyard somewhere. it was a sad day since I liked the car but I now have a 300e that is serving me well.

184 horsepower for US models. Yes it was fast but the euro's has 225hp.
