I am upgrading my stereo and I have purchased the MB Quart 3 way component speaker system. I have read many of threads in the archives and I know I will put subs in doors, mids in dash, but it has been some time since the messages I read were posted and I am wondering of those who have installed the MB Quart tweeters or other systems with similarly sized tweeters think of their locations.
Also would like wire reccomendations too please.
thanks

I run MBQuart 3 ways in the front of my 500E. I coincidentally mounted both the 4" mid and the tweet up under the factory grille on the dash. The tweeter splashes up against the windshield, like the mid, and is very effective. I left the grilles off for a few weeks at first, messing around with the angle of the tweets. Straight up worked best.

Thanks for the reply, did you expiriment with "taping" them in different locations, ie. pillars, kick boards, etc... ? Also each of the components has its own crossover, is there anything I should keep in mind when positioning/mounting them?

Ensure your crossovers are not installed near any power lines, and that all speaker leads are the same length.
As to where to put the tweets, bear in mind that the further the tweeter is mounted from the mid, you could end up with either imaging issues or a frequency range that's under-reproduced because it's around the crossover frequency from the mid up to the tweet. If they're near each other, they should blend nice and smooth.
That said, I tried out my tweeters pointing many different ways, and settled on pointing them straight up at the windshield, just like the OE pieces. ..they seemed to smooth out a bit versus having them pointed directly at your head. Plus it keeps the soundstage fairly wide, so tyhe passenger and driver both get reasonably nice sound. Remember, MBQuart tweets are notoriously bright, so mounting them as I did seemed to take some of the excessive brightness away.
I hope this helps!!

Thanks for the good info. I think I will probably do as you have done, and mount them w/ mids, as brightness was one of my concerns.
Where did you mount your crossovers?

The right-side xover is under the panel in the passenger-side footwell-the driver's side is up under the dashboard.
