View Full Version : 400E for sale
Friend of mine wanted to sell her 400E and I promised to help her out:
low mileage 40k miles
sandy silver exterior
beige interior
excellent condition
new brake pads
Please email me for additional info:

Car is in Seattle WA.
Friend wasn't ready half a year ago, she is now, still less than 40k miles on the 1992 400E, please call her up (604) 729-0505 if anyone is interested. One owner and I think she's looking at around $11-12k.
PC Dave 10-02-2002, 09:31 AM Eric, is this a Canadian car? Is it registered in the US? Any problem with the metric instruments, and any idea what the conversion cost is?
Hi Dave, it is a Canadian car currently registered in Canada (stronger 8 mph bumpers).
I *believe* the speedometer swap costs around $500, registeration should be fairly straight forward if I bring the car across the boarder and have your shipper pick it up in Seattle. Cars from Canada to the US is much easier than bringing a car from US to Canada due to the tougher Canadian bumper requirement.

bhorne 10-06-2002, 05:33 PM I wanted to purchase this car so I did an insurance claim history check on it.
It has had 7 insurance repairs for a total cost of over $29,000. The largest claim was $16,000 in 1992. The owner says the car looks great and all repairs were done correctly. I have not seen the car, so I can not pass judgement. I thought I'd pass the information on to other parties interested in the car.

Hi Tony, I think you may be able to obtain similar information from CarFax? Here in BC, Canada there is only one provincial insurance company called ICBC therefore it's an opened book.
However, when I asked my friend, the 400E owner, Beatrice to obtain additional information on which part had been replaced by ICBC, apparently their records only go back 3 years. She's finding out additional information from Mercedes Benz directly. All the repair had been done at MB Canada so the factory store should have the information available.
turbodiesel 10-12-2002, 03:35 AM God damn, a $9900 repair bill? This person must have been one HORRIBLE driver..
