I have a 1973-450SL, which I've replaced the manifold pressure sensor. Since the replacement there's a distinct hydrocarbon odor and the fuel economy has gone to 10mpg.

I've also noticed the sound of the engine is louder almost like a waffling sound.

Can anyone help?
