Hi All,
I heard that a front end component swap with a '63 220 Fin tail could yield disk brakes on 190sl.
Has anyone done this? Is is just kin pins and brakes and spindle or is it also the suspension arms? Will the stock 190sl wheels bolt onto the disks?
Thanks for any info.

Interesting idea. I haven't explored disk brakes but myself and a friend have made other modifications. First item is a 25mm sway bar, stiffens the front end. Second 14 inch wheels with large modern tires, 205/70/14's. The larger tires lower cruising RPM's. Points replacement electronic ignition, great improvement. Robby has also cut one coil from his front springs to lower the front just a little, hardly noticeable but greatly improved cornering. He also utilized 14 inch alloy disk wheels that he installed clips to hold his standard hubcaps.
If you try disk brakes, let me know. Also interested in any engine swap suggestions, like a 5 main bearing 2.2L four. Anyone know anything?

Jim,
Where did you get the sway bar?

I bought mine from Bruce Adams at Sports Leight (sp) in Pinehurst NC. My understanding is that he has sold the shop to Bojyon (sp). You can find their number in the Star Magazine or Hemmings. They normally just installed them in their restorations but he sold one to me. Sorry about the spelling; I was an engineer at UCB.
