I'm looking for a good independant shop in the Mercer County area of NJ - Princeton/Trenton. I've seen the recommendations for, I believe it's Contemperary, in Little Silver but that's a bit further than I can easily deal with.

I'd like to find someone who is used to dealing with DIYers and is particularly good with engine diagnostics on somewhat older cars - I have an '87 560SEL.

Don't know if it's close enough but I use a great independent shop in Lakewood, 10 min off exit 21 Rte 195 East.

It takes me 30-45 min from Lakewood to Princeton depending on the traffic. Let me know if it works, I'll give you the details.

The best independent shop in Mercer County is J&B Automotive, they are no cheap per hour wise, $90/hour , but they are competent and honest. they are locate 301 Edinburg road, Mercerville,NJ 08619.
