Episodically the LCD panel on my Becker Radio BE1480 in my 1990 300E will go Crazy. It reads most of the possible carracters and renders the radio usless . I try to correct by disconecting the battery,typing in the code etc but it only gets better when it decides to come back usually with all the original presets. Is this a common problem?

I have seen this before and I usually say to replace the radio with a good aftermarket. (Alpine or equiv).
