The antenna on my 560SL doesn't want to go down any more. It never did extend to full length from the radio, but would with the switch. However, now it won't go down without physically pushing it while it's trying to retract.
I seem to remember reading about clean some disks inside the unit, but a search of the subjects turn up nothing.
Any ideas on what is needed to fix this.
Thanks for providing such a great web site!

You can take the unit apart and clean the rollers and lube them, The problem is you will likely find some damaged parts in there. If so just order a new one from us!

I had the same problem on my 300E. I extended the antenna with the switch, cleaned the outside with some soapy water, rinsed and dried the antenna, and then put a couple of drops of "White lightning" bicycle chain lube on each section joint. I cycled the antenna several times, and it has worked fine ever since. Good Luck.

Hmmmm you can try to clean the antenna mast with WD40 see if works or could be your antenna motor inside has plastic gears worn
out cause mast won't retract if that is the case you have buy the motor (gear is part of the motor) check with PartsShop see they have
parts for you :-)
