Looking for a place to bolt my Huge Ham radio antenna to on a 99 E-class.
I see a tow, or strap down eye under the right rear of car. This looks robust enough to hold A large antenna mount with the proper Adapter…what do you think?

How much RF power will you be pumping out? It could affect the car's computer and other electronic components.

up to 500W..the MB is tested at high power radio station like the one I work for, and the Voice of America short wave.. they are one of the best as far as not being effected
by strong RF fields.. the manual just says don't use a radio with the Ant. INSIDE the car..

I really don't have a clue as to how mount a large antenna on the car but, being a ham operator myself I'm kind of curious what you find out. Personally, I prefer to leave the HF stuff at home and take the VHF/UHF in the car and avoid the big antenna.
