I have a 1983 240D. The rear power antenna mast was broken off last month. I am told that the mast has to be replaced only; others say the whole power antenna must be replaced. Got any advice?

Hope I never need your advice, the mast can be replaced separately. however sometimes the plastic cable breaks & the motor must be removed & disassembled to remove the drive cable. just loosten the 13/12mm nut & turn the key(& radio) on to see if the antenna mast comes out. if it does you're in business. if not the antenna will have to be disassembled.
