Finals for this semester end on something like Dec. 17th.....so, depending on WHEN in Dec., I may be able to come.

But Engatwork has to do the driving!:D I say we have it Autowerks!! I can see it now...................Parking lot full of MBs, Big ole grille on a trailer with BBQ chicken and ribs, cold beer and designated drivers drinkin Pepsi. Donnie do'in burnouts and letting us take our pictures with him and Bill..............YEAH!! That's what I'm talking bout!!

This sounds like fun. Usually the "shop" is not open on Sundays but ask Donnie and Bill. We are always happy to see folks from the web at MB Autowerks.... Failing the shop as a venue there are a couple "driver" oriented places around town I could recommend. A "track day" at Andretti speed lab anyone? (GA 400 Mansell exit) They have a Fudruckers for burgers/basic food, full bar, billiards, and oh yeah....two indoor go-kart (think slightly nutless shifter kart) tracks. As for my pesonal schedule, Sundays work best so the 8th or 15th are my vote.

Well, it's now official. Bill and Donnie have generously invited us to have the GTG at MB Autowerks! We'll have the opportunity to tour the facility and 'talk shop' with the MB Masters!

Be sure to mark Saturday, December 14th on you calendars. We'll plan on meeting at MB Autowerks in the afternoon (specific time to come soon) and then later we have a private room secured at a nearby german restaurant.

THANK YOU Bill and Donnie for your hospitality!

One more quick note.....space at the restaurant will be limited to only about 25-30! Keep an eye on this sticky for additional information about the dinner as we will have to collect a few $$ in advance for a firm headcount.

You may also want to post this in the other forums. I think Bill and I both agree that 2pm should be a good time to get to the shop and around 4 or so we will migrate to Kurt's.

Just a thought, there are members in Tennessee, north Alabama, North and South Carolina that are closer than Engatwork and me. Yall come on too! Anybody in the central Ga. area want to meet in Macon? We could ride up together or have a Motorcade!! Yeah, an MB motorcade! I just don't want to have to ride behind one of yall's diesels !!:D :D

I'm in Southern California, and about 2,000 miles away from Sugar Hill, give or take 200 miles. Is that too far?:confused:

By the way, when I was in elementary school, I had an early rap album by a group called, The Sugar Hill Gang. The had a big hit at the time called "Rapper's Delite". I can still sing the words to probably the whole song, and that was about 25 years ago.

Anybody heard of them, and did they come from that city?:cool:

The Sugar Hill Gang are from New York or New Jersey, I think, they mostly do old school nostalgia tours now.

Don't know where they were from, but they were one of the pioneer rap groups...definitely one of the first rap artists to get any recognition from the mainstream music industry.

Remember, we have secured a 'private' area of the restaurant, requiring a deposit (of sorts). I am working with the restaurant now about food arrangements, possibly a 'limited' menu so we can be served in a timely fashion. We'll probably go with a cash bar for convenience as well. More details about the menu to come soon.

We will be limited to only about 25-30 people at this location. With this being the case, we will need to send in funds to secure one of the 'lucky' 25-30 spots for this meal. It is only fair this way...first come, first served:cool:

Make your check for $25 (per person) payable to Bill Wood and mail in c/o MB Autowerks, 211 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Sugar Hill, GA 30518. First come, first served.....get your checks in now!

If you are only able to attend the 'shop' portion of the afternoon and can't stick around for fun and food, no $$$ is required, but DO NOT expect to have a space at the restaurant if you don't pre-register and send in your money to Bill.

Due to the companies condition, I am low on funds but long on frequent flyer miles.

I know this would be an imposition, so I hesitate to ask, but is there anyone who would be going by the Atlanta airport on the way to the gtg, and someone going back by the airport the next morning to take me back?

I don't normally check this forum, so if you could email me I would appreciate it very much.

What time exactly would you be landing, since Sept 11, picking up people from the airport has become complicated, you can't park or wait at the cub, you have to circle around like a hawk until you see your passenger.

I live downtown, only 15 minutes or so from the airport....I'm sure picking you up wouldn't be a problem. When it gets a little closer to the event, send me your flight #, time, etc...We'll work it out. :)

I would be very interested in coming up. Although I believe it is around a 10 hour drive to Atlanta from my house. It would be more convenient if another person wanted to carpool or caravan up there.

Sorry to tell you but the event was yesterday. Next time it happens plan to be there. It would be more like 8 hours travel for you than ten. If you do plan to come let me know, I'll get you a good place to stay for low $$$$.

hrm I seem to remember the first post stating it would be in December. :confused: :confused: .

Let me know when the next one is I would be more than happy to ride up and meet you all. Also being German the after gtg dinner at a German place would be awesome. There is not one good German place down here :( so i would look forward to that.
