I was thinking of having a GTG at my dad's house, preferably sometime in January, I was thinking the 4th or the 5th would be nice, short notice, but should be good to have a GTG to ring in the start of the new year. :)

We could do detailing, just talk cars, Have a Barbecue, Do some mods or installs of upgrade items like steering wheels, lights etc, do some photo's, or whatever else.

I'd enjoy doing a detailing GTG, with a barbeque, some brews, and photos of course, plus I would enjoy getting to install or mod some stuff or watch it being done, but with me, I'll want to take a part in it. :)

If anyone is up for it, or has other dates in mind, I'm all up for it.

Reply here please and lets get this organized. We could meet in a public place too, but I enjoy having people come to my dad's house, barbecue, and hang out.

Hmm. It definitely sounds like fun but I'm not sure I can make it that weekend...

Unfortunately I won't be able to make it, I'll be spending the month in So Arizona.

Hopefully the internet has made it to the Sonoran Desert and I can find a place to log on and see what's happening here at the Shop. If this comes to pass, do post pictures so I can claim to have attended, at least virtrually ;).

Might could possibly make it for the 4th. As far as mods or upgrades go I should have my my replacement soft top by then and would anyone be experienced in soft top replacement? Big job but I plan on doing it soon. Could use all the help I need.

Actually, I'm somewhat in the area (near Lancaster), and was planning on heading home on either the 4th or 5th. I could do the 4th, although earlier would be better. That is, if you're willing to accept a diesel guy who doesn't know a thing about detailing ;)

I'm interested, depending on the day...the 5th and later is definitely impossible for me, though; my girlfriend starts back at school on the 6th so we both have to be home in the Bay Area by then.

Well if you guys want to do it the 4th, lets make it so.

LA Auto show gtg sounds great mark. we could meet at my house at around 10: am to start prepping and barbecueing, then eat and head out to the auto show, which should be open till 9 pm or so.

What to bring:
We need a list of who wants to bring what? I got the basics taken care of, napkins, plastic forks knives and spoons, Barbecue, fridge, and some meat. I have burger patties and buns, some ribs, steaks, Chili, and potatoes.

IF others want to bring stuff, please make sure to post here what you want to bring, so we don't end up with lots of the same stuff.

We will be meeting at my house at 10:00 AM, so we can prep the food and Barbecue it, and so that we can make sure its all ready by noon or 1pm so we can eat lunch. Int he meantime, we can talk cars, maybe do some washing and cleaning, or mods too if some people have them. We can also do a photoshoot, video shoot, and have some fun.

Please post what you want to bring, and don't forget to e-mail me for the Address for those attending.

I hope we get a good turnout. Don't forget we will be going to the LA autoshow, so make sure you ahve your camera's, and cash to pay the entrance fees for the show and parking. We should porobably carpool there, to save money aon gas and parking. Perhaps when there we can get a group rate for entry too.

I'll be checking up on this thread often, so lets finalize the stuff being brought.

On second thought, it looks like my car won't be together in time for me to make it tomorrow, especially since I was originally planning to drive the 300 miles home straight from the meet tomorrow, and still want to leave tomorrow if at all possible. If you see my post in the Diesel section (wheel bearing/axle #3), you can see what I'm dealing with :(

Hope you all enjoy yourselves! Maybe there'll be another meet at a time that I'm down here; I'm in the L.A. area fairly often; most of my family lives here...
