I just went through the formum looking for a shop in WLA/SM area. The consensus seems to be
MR MB (Enrique) in Tarzana. I would like to avoid going over the hill into the valley. I trust that Enrique is the best,
but there must be a great mechanic in West Los Angeles or Santa Monica. Anyone?

I also hate going "over the hill" to fight the 405 in WLA, however, when it comes to your Benz . . . make the trip. Just go off-hours (whenever that is) or take Sepulveda. Enrique is worth the drive!

there are two mercedes service shops on santamonica blvd inbetween beverly glen and westwood blvd. Both seem to be good shops, but Enrique is the only mechanic I trust completely.

I just wanted to add to the vote for Hamel at Marina Benz in Marina Del Rey as trustworthy and able to correctly solve problems even obscure ones. He has done so several times for my 85 300TD when no one else even had a clue. He is Mercedes factory certified and been working on MB exclusivley for 30 years. Every time I'm there it seems to be a steady stream of loyal customers come by all of whom swear by his service. I drove from San Francisco for my latest needs with the added bonus of a very fair price for reliable work. He's the best!

Based on this forum I went to Hamel. Horribly experience. FIxed things ( and tried to charge me ) that we had not even talked about. Said air in the lines was normal. Did not seem to know his way around my w210 e300TD. Plus scratched my fender while leaning into the car. And he was slow.

That is just me though. Others seem to have had a good experience.
