View Full Version : WA GTG
I am just testing the waters right now to see if anyone would be interest in having a WA GTG sometime this spring or summer. I am thinking that we can all meet somewhere that is convenient for everyone, location is not important to me. If there is any interest we can move forward with the planning process.
rickg 01-29-2003, 01:39 AM About a 5 of us got together last August at Lake Sammamish. It seemed kinda centrally located for most who spoke up and said they'd be interested. We had two guys come all the way down from B.C., and one came up from portland area. Another came over from Yakima.
I'd love to do another this year. I was gonna try and make it down to the northern calif GTG, but doesn't look like I'll be able to make it. I kinda headed up the GTG last year, so I'll let someone else take the lead this year and see if we can't scare up a few more participants.
Let's do it!
Ok, I vote for Lake Chelan as a good location, it is only 30 minutes from my house, and most likely will have nice warm weather. Plus there is a wrecking yard there with several Audi's. I might be able to head up this event, but I will have to see how busy I am going to be in the next few months first.

Kool!
Doesn't really take much time once a date and place is decided on. I took a drive down to the lake a couple months previous to see what the facilities were, and whether or not we needed to reserve a spot. Turned out to be an awsome park with more than adequate room, and we didn't bother with reservations. We just found a shady spot out in the middle of the parking area and pulled out our chairs. The parking areas are fairly roomy and most have grass that you park on. Worked great. But if enough people want to make a little more formal affair of it, we can rent a picnic area with tables, barbeque and some are even covered(this is Seattle remember!;) ) Not sure what the fees are, but somewhere I have their website bookmarked, I think, or it can be found thru the Washington State parks site.
There is a nice city park in Chelan, on the south side of the lake, sort of near the waterslides. In the past there has never been a fee to use the park or even a parking fee. I think there might even be a picnic shelter, but the park is full of huge trees to shade the Eastern Washington sun.
mbz380se 01-29-2003, 07:08 PM Lake Chelan sounds good to me; I like it up there, and am familiar with the area.
The park that 123c suggests is by far the nicest park in the Chelan area on the water.
Plus, I'd be bringing the 380SE if I was able to make it.
-Sam
I can try to go to Chelan sometime this week, and take some pictures of the parks. The one I am thinking about is probally the nicest one of all, if I remember right, they put in some nice docks to jump off and a swim raft thingy.
mbz380se 01-29-2003, 07:23 PM Try and go on a sunny day and get some pictures; even if it means waiting longer. Chelan looks pretty dreary under the winter clouds, if memory serves.

I think I will wait, yesterday would have been a great day to take pictures. I guess if we are trying to sell people on this place, we should show it when it looks nice
Kyle Blackmore 01-29-2003, 08:09 PM Last years event was fun and I'd be game for another one.Of course I'm partial to something a little closer to the border but the lake was a nice spot and if it's more central for people from the south, then great.
There is Lake Okanogan, which is on the boarder. There is a nice State Park there.
Wait, I was thinking of Osoyoos Lake, here is the link to it:
http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Osoyoos%20Lake&pageno=1
Kyle Blackmore 01-29-2003, 08:46 PM Hi Eric, Lake Osoyoss is beautiful but I was thinking of something closer to the coast. I think it's called Chuckanut Drive, south of Bellingham. There is a lake along the drive and probably a park as well.
How about Lake Sammamish again? That might be a good compromise for everyone, it's a 2.5 hour drive for me, and less than an hour for everyone else, except Kyle.
How about a date and time, I am open to any day, except April 26-27 and May 3-4. I will be busy partying at the Washington State Apple Blossom Festival.
rickg 01-30-2003, 11:50 AM Oops! I just realizes I said we met at Lake Chelan last summer. Not sure why I did! I meant Lake Sammamish! Sorry 'bout that!!! I must have been on crack! ;)
Soooo.....
Let's try again. I'd go most anywhere in the state, short of Spokane. And so far the only time I am looking at being unavailable is the last week of June thru the first week of July.
I agree with Rick, Spokane is not a good place to meet. How about Steamboat Rock, it is a nice large park, and its near Grand Coulee Dam. It still might be located a little farther than most are willing to drive. Here is the link:
http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Steamboat%20Rock&pageno=1
mbz380se 01-30-2003, 01:39 PM Steamboat Rock is nice. A little isolated though, and out of the way (I'm thinking 3.5 hours for us Seattle folk).
Marymoor Park on Lk. Sammamish would probably be the most centrally located place for everyone.
My vote would be for some place around Bellingham or Anacortes, but that would be kinda far ffrom Eastern WA.
-Sam
Bellingham or Anacortes should work for me, actually might work out great for me.
rickg 01-30-2003, 04:27 PM There is Lake Samish on the south side of Bellingham. Not sure what kind of parks are there, but I'd be willing to do a bit of exploring if that area sounded good to everyone.
This is the problem we had last year. Getting a spot that was a good comprimise for everyone. (I know we lost a few by choosing Lake Sammimish in Issaquah) So we'll just have to bounce this around a bit and see what the majority like and are willing to drive to.
I'd love to go this way(north end) if it meant we could get Greg Samuelson to bring his Unimog down from B.C.!! Are ya out there anymore Greg?:)
mbz380se 01-30-2003, 06:37 PM Lake Samish always looks really nice, from the freeway anyway. I'd be totally down with that location, and the drive up I-5 from north of Everett to Bellingham is nice and uncrowded (70-80 mph cruising all the way, y'all.)
-Sam
Here is the link to Samish Park:
http://whatcom.kulshan.com/Washington/Whatcom/Bellingham/Outdoors/Samish_Park.htm
rickg 01-31-2003, 11:25 AM I'll post a reference to this thread over in the other forums, since only us brave ones come here anymore!;)
I was thinking that we could maybe have two get togethers, one in March or April and another in July or August. This way in case someone can't make it to one, they can make it to the other.
rickg 02-03-2003, 04:22 PM Well, not an overwhelming response! But enough for a GTG in my book. Did get one response over in the diesel forum too.
So does up north still sound ok? If so, I'll try to take a run up there in the next couple weeks and scout around. Can't go this weekend, I'll be heading over to see some friends in Lake Chelan.
My summer is already narrowing down. My daughter is planning her wedding in "the middle of August", whatever that means. But that still leaves Most of June and July open, or we can do it a bit earlier as Eric suggested, in April or May. But seems May and early June are typically pretty wet around here, but this hasn't been a typical year either!:D
August 16th is another bad day for me, I should probally attend my friends wedding :)
rickg 02-06-2003, 11:31 AM This died a quick death.:(
I'll Bring the TLJ and someone else can bring the cats :D
dieseldude 02-06-2003, 11:51 AM I'm definitely in - sorry I missed the one in August! Marymoor Park would great seeing as it's only about 20 min. from my place :D. Seriously though, plenty of open parking space to show off each other's rides - and some nice brewpubs nearly walking distance...
I'm pretty open to just about anywhere though (except Spokane), Chelan, Bellignham, Sammamish...
Regards,
- Ryan
Heck, let's have a winter gtg. Most points to the person w/the dirtiest Benz ;)

I'm all for a Winter GTG, as long as there is enough interest. I would have won for having the dirtiest Benz if I didn't wash it a few weeks ago
rickg 02-06-2003, 12:44 PM I'm on. Where?:)
I am up for anywhere, how about Lake Sammamish or Lake Chelan?
rickg 02-06-2003, 04:32 PM I'd do Chelan, but wonder how many others will. I have friends that live there and I could make a weekend of it (like I'm doing this weekend). But I don't want to make anyone drive too far if they don't want to. I think Eric is the farthest "easterner" we have here. Is there somewhere in between? Leavenworth?
How about Lake Sammamish (or somewhere in between) in say March, then we do one this summer up at Lake Samish (or that way) for our B.C. friends to attend? Greg up there said he may be able to get some of his Moger and g-wagon friends to attend one up that way. That would be awesome!
Leavenworth is a good place, but it can be cold and lots of snow until March. However I enjoy the German and Swiss Chocolates ;)
yhliem 02-07-2003, 02:52 AM just keep us BC folk posted :D
V Gates 02-08-2003, 03:49 PM We usually visit Seattle every year, usually in the fall to get away from all the tourists and kids out of school. We take the motor home but might drive the 1991 300CE out this year.
If I happen to be there in the time of the get together I will attend. It's only 1700 miles from Iowa.

The question now, how do we have GTG like the one they had in Southern California :)
How does a GTG on Saturday the 8th or 15th of March at Lake Sammamish, Leavenworth or Lake Chelan sound. Then have another one at Lake Samish in mid-summer.
dakota 02-12-2003, 02:19 AM I'm in. Anywhere is fine with me. Lake Samamish sounds good, as does Chelan.
rickg 02-12-2003, 03:36 PM I can do Sammamish most any weekend. Chelan would take a bit of planning, and checking the wifes work schedule, as she would definetly want to go over there to visit our friends.(She's not quite into a Mercedes GTG anywhere:( )
So how does Lake Sammamish on March 8th or 15th sounds to everyone? As of right now, those two dates look good for me.
dakota 02-18-2003, 09:12 PM Either is fine for me.
rickg 02-19-2003, 12:10 AM Both are good for me too.:) Guess we'll have to toss a coin to pick which date.
LeBenz hasn't chimed in here yet for March.
rickg 02-19-2003, 04:30 PM Ok. I'll be the brave one and pick the day. March 15th. There. I said it.:D
Hopefully the passes will stay clear for ya Eric!! :)
March 15th sounds good to me, and I am sure the passes should be clear for me.
Now we need a time, anytime after 10 will work for me, since it's only a 3 hour drive for me :D
rickg 02-19-2003, 05:37 PM Last year we said around 11 I think, but no on showed up till about 1:00. So why don't we shoot for noon?
Noon sounds good for me, but I am sure I will be there around 10 or 11 :D
rickg 02-19-2003, 07:18 PM Kool!
I updated the post in the diesel, feature, and vintage forums. Greg Samuelson (in diesel forum) said he'd post it in the G-wagon bunch he's involved with.
mbz380se 02-19-2003, 09:02 PM Keep the idea of a summer GTG alive, too. Unfortunately, this GTG would be right before my finals week in college, and I probably couldn't bring the MB there anyway.
However, if y'all ever plan for anything later in the future, I'd probably be down.
-Sam
Does anyone want to try and have a BBQ, or is it going to be too cold still yet?
rickg 02-19-2003, 11:40 PM I'm not gonna be the one to say no, but March is a pretty unpredictable time of the year. A B-B-Q may be easier to do this summer. But hey! If everyone wants to, what the heck. We'll be easy to pick out at the park. We'll be the ones crowded around the B-B-Q pit trying to get it lit:D
Last year we just brought our own sack lunch or whatever. Now that I think of it, it may be hard to coordinate anyway. Greg said he posted this GTG on two other forums (which is WAY cool  )
coachgeo 02-20-2003, 12:41 AM Well WA is wayyyyyyy to far fer me. Anything on the East coast; preferably North East?

Kyle Blackmore 02-20-2003, 12:47 AM I'm scheduled to work that day at the car lot but I'm sure I can work something out.So is it at the same place as last year at noon on the 15th of March. The border line-ups are getting longer but I think I'll avoid the main crossing and use Sumas or Aldergrove this time, what do you think Greg?

Hope I can make it!

Thats my goal too.... Well WVO is my goal. Not sure about before making this event though.
rickg 02-26-2003, 12:36 PM I have a digital camera now, so can post pics right afterwards:D Believe it or nor, I still haven't developed the film from last years GTG:eek: (That's one reason I broke down and bought a digital:D )
Hey Coachgeo, just want to make sure you know this is all about a GTG in Washington state, you know, out west.;)

man u dudes are confusing. First I figured WA state... then someone made me think east coast... thus WA DC....... man make up ur mindsss. Guess no GTG for me
I will bring my digital camera too, I just need to make sure to buy a new Compact Flash Card. For some reason the 64MB card I bought last summer went bad :(.
Denlasoul 03-01-2003, 07:29 PM Hi everyone:
I'm new here and found this GTG post. Since I was no there last time, could you give me a little more info about where the meet will take place? I know it's on 3/15 around noon, but where by Lk. Sammamish?
Thanks,
DLS
dakota 03-01-2003, 07:41 PM Lake Sammamish is just east of Redmond, WA. It's a big lake and I'm not sure where we are meeting. Maybe a map would be a good thing.
Kyle Blackmore 03-02-2003, 07:55 PM OK, I'm in.Hope the border wait is short.
DLS-we met at the State park last year, it was easy to find, maybe Rick could post the link with the map. Also Rick ,what was the hwy we drove north on to get back to I-5 ?See you there:cool:
Denlasoul 03-02-2003, 10:55 PM If you were heading north and hooked up to I5, then most likely I405. I have an idea where the state park is, but I'll wait till someone posts directions.
The Park is on the South East side of the lake, near Issaquah. The entrance is only a few blocks from I-90, but might take a while to get to due to traffic back ups.
When coming from the East like me, just get off I-90 at the exit for the park :D
dakota 03-02-2003, 11:17 PM [Map link didn't work.]
rickg 03-03-2003, 04:14 PM I'm falling behind here! I'll see if I can pull up the web site to the park. There actually is an easier way to get there than using the posted exit. If you take the one before it, it gets you there from the other direction and you get to miss all the back-ups getting off the freeway. But I'll be darned if I can remember what that exit is called now. I'll try to get this posted here sometime before the big day. Just keep checking back here til then.
Like Denlasoul said, if your coming from the north, get off I-5 at the 405 exit just past Everett. Stay on that until I-90. Take the I-90 east exit. If you follow that east a ways (5 miles or so?) there is an exit labled for Lake Sammamish Park just as your coming into Issaquah. But some days that exit is so backed up you'll literally be sitting still on the freeway. Kinda scarey 'cause traffic is blasting past you on either side. There's been some nasty accidents there.
I'll get more here later:)
rickg 03-03-2003, 04:32 PM Here's the web site, but not real helpful as far as directions goes. I'll keep working on that.
http://www.parks.wa.gov/parkpage.asp?selectedpark=Lake%20Sammamish&pageno=1
Fastlane Phil 03-03-2003, 08:38 PM Wish I was up there to join your get together. As most of you know,I'm originally from the Everett area. Have a great time. I have a daughter, Son-in-law and Grandson still up there.

rickg 03-04-2003, 01:41 PM Well, com'n up:D We'll hold a spot for ya at the park:) Must be time to visit your family!;)
Fastlane Phil 03-04-2003, 01:46 PM You guys won't let me out of the office long enough to
come up there. LOL
Who'd answer the phone here?
partsman
It would be nice. Maybe I'll tell my kids up there and they can go
in my place.

I know the exit you are talking about, and I can't remember the name of it either. I would always use that excite when I would visit my grandparents. It's between Issaquah and Eastgate.
gsamuelson 03-06-2003, 01:39 AM LOL, I never thought to look in here, doh!
Anyhow, I've been trying to rouse up some MLs but there doesn't seem to be any takers. I got into bit of a pissing match over there, guys seem to be hammering on Canadians and Canadians with SUVs, so maybe I am not so popular anymore:( . Come to think of it, I seem to have gotten into bit of a squable on the diesel forum too. Guess the corners haven't be knocked off my mellon just yet!
Anyhow, one fellow did ask for details on the ML list so I'll point him over here. I expect there to be at least one, perhaps 2 other G wagens.
Kyle, if you want to meet up let me know. I'll be the one following slowly behind. The non-turbo 617 in a G is not exactly fast and I don't push her past 100 km/h.
Some of the folks from last year will be in for a treat. As you may recall my wife was very pregnant at the time of our last GTG. Well, the baby is six months old now and as beautiful as only a baby girl can be. :D
DR.DIESEL 03-06-2003, 02:18 AM LET'S SEE IF I CAN MANAGE TO GET A G55 UP THERE.
DIESEL OR NOT, IT'S STILL PRETTY COOL!
I am going to try and get my old Minolta SLR camera working by the time of the GTG. I love that camera, It takes very good pictures, much better than my POS digital camera :D. However, I will still bring my digital camera :)

Ok now I should get be able to get a few more G and Unimog types to show up.
As for cameras, I'll bring my Minox.

rickg 03-06-2003, 02:46 PM Just saw the weathe forcast thru next weekend this morning. Looks like more of same as were having now, so bring your PNW (pacific northwest) gear! :( Just hope it's a dry rain!:D

Northwest weather? Just wait 5 minutes, it'll change!!
I wonder if we should try to rig up some sort of shelter?
Huddling around a BBQ is starting to sound like a real possibility.
dieseldude 03-06-2003, 03:46 PM ....well bummer guys, weekend of the 15th, I'll be on my friend's boat in the San Juan's. This 'boy's weekend out' has been on the calendar before we decided on a date here :(
I'll be there for the Summer gtg! Or if any of you want to meet for a brew in the Northend/Eastside before then.
Regards,

I'm going to get hold of my brother. I think he has one of those nice collapsable lawn cover-shelter-thingees. If he still has it, I'll see if I can cram it into the trunk of my car. Otherwise, there may be a good chance we can snag one of those gazebos at the park. I'm guessing there won't be too many other people crazy enough to be at a park this time of the year.:D If I get a chance, I want to take a run down to the park this saturday and kind of get a feel for how crowded it is this time of the year. Plus I want to try to write down some better directions for you guys so you don't need to take the main exit as I mentioned before.
I was hoping you could make this Ryan:( But sounds like there is still plenty of interest for a summer GTG, maybe farther north. We'll talk more about it on the 15th and post more here later.
I tried to send a PM to Lebenz to see if he can make it, but no response. I guess he's left our ranks. Not sure what happened there, but it's a shame. I don't know how many caught it, but earlier in our posting of this GTG he had offered the use of his cabin down near Mt Rainier, which I thought was a real nice gesture. But by the time I was going to respond to him, he pulled the post.
BTW, I remembered there is a place up in Bellingham that I have bookmarked at home. They specialize in repairs and restoration of Mercedes. Looks like a nice place. I had a crazy idea of getting hold of them and see if they'd be interested in hosting our summer GTG at their facility. Anyone have an idea of who I'm talking about, and if so, anything about them? I'll check my bookmarks at home later and post it here so you can all take a peek.
I also would entertain a GTG in BC with Greg and Kyle, and who ever else there is up there. This will be the second time they've come "across" for us, and feel it'd be fair to reciprocate:)
silversurfer 03-06-2003, 05:11 PM Will be there in my freshly Kleemann supercharged Brabus 5.8 Cabriolet!! Who needs a G55??;)

Don't know how you would spell it, but this is where a Tim Allen grunt would be appropriate!!
If your coming with a car like that, I'll be there even if I'm on deaths door  :D
Kyle Blackmore 03-06-2003, 11:56 PM Hi Greg, I think we'll be bringing the CE so a 100 kmh cruise might be a 'tad' slow:D .It's in getting a tranny overhaul this week so it should be a nice break-in cruise for it.I think we'll cross at Sumas as it's been fairly quiet lately, but we could meet for breakfast in Bellingham if you want or ?Looking forward to the meet regardless of the weather:cool:
rickg 03-07-2003, 01:19 AM Here's a map showing I-90 going into Issaquah. The main exit that you normally follow is the one just below where it says Lake Sammamish State Park. You can see it turns into S.E. 56th St, but not sure if that's what it is at the exit. But there are lots of signs to follow from the freeway. (The park web site says to take exit #15). But I'll drive down this weekend and note more details, and figure out the other exit I mentioned earlier so I can completely confuse everyone!
One thing for those of you coming down from the north on I-405, after you go thru Bellevue you'll come to a tunnel, and by then you need to be getting into the correct lane. I believe it's the 2nd lane from the right. The traffic gets kinda bottle-necked after the tunnel as everyone tries to shuffle into the correct lane for getting off onto I-90, depending on whether they're going west or east. You'll want the I-90 East exit. Coming up from the south I think it's easier, but I've never used that exit coming from that direction, so you're on your own:D
rickg 03-09-2003, 02:42 AM Man! Sorry I'm so windy! :o
But anyhow. I took a cruise down today. Looks like we'll have the whole freakin park to ourselves! I think there was 2 other cars there today. But we'll see what the weather does.
I'll be bringing my brothers canopy, but it's only 10' x10', so may not be able to cram everyone under it :D but I'm guessing we'll be able to get one of the covered picnic areas. I may call the phone number and see if we need to reserve one. I think it would be a good idea to try and get one. They have big barbeque pits that we could stoke up a fire in. (I'll bring some of those pressed sawdust fire logs)
For you guys coming down from the north:
As I said, as you go thru Bellevue on 405, you'll come to a tunnel. It's the only tunnel on the whole freeway, so you can't miss it. At the tunnel be moving into the 2nd from the right lane. Stay in that lane, and it'll take you off to the East I-90 exit. It'll curve down under the freeway(405) and come up onto I-90. Get over a couple lanes soon as you can. The right two lanes quickly become exit only lanes. Watch for exit #13, West Lake Sammamish Parkway. (If you miss it, just go onto the exit marked for Lake Sammamish Park). Exit #13 has two lanes, stay in the left lane. It'll curve around and go under I-90. Stay in the right lane as you go under the freeway. After you go under the freeway, there's a wierd round-about kind of an intersection, but you will turn right and not go thru it. It's kind of wierd to explain, but you'll see when you get there. That right turn will put you on West Lk. Sammamish Parkway heading east again. The park entrance is about 3 miles from there. It comes up kind of quick on you from that direction. I almost drove by it. The sign isn't really visible until you're there.
For now, let's just plan on meeting the same place as last year I guess, unless we can get a gazeebo. For those of you that weren't there, it's the first parking area on the left side. I'll be there sometime before noon in my dark blue SD. And sounds like Eric will be there early too (Right Eric?:) ) in his brown CD. If we get a gazeebo we'll watch for lost looking Mercedes coming in. Maybe I'll put up a sign, but shouldn't be hard to find everyone.
Oh, almost forgot. They have signs posted all over the place that they now charge a 5$ parking fee per car:mad: Welcome to Washington State!
It looks like the weather should be good enough on the passes for me to make it over, and I should be there fairly early:D.

Hi Greg, I think we'll be bringing the CE so a 100 kmh cruise might be a 'tad' slow:D .It's in getting a tranny overhaul this week so it should be a nice break-in cruise for it.I think we'll cross at Sumas as it's been fairly quiet lately, but we could meet for breakfast in Bellingham if you want or ?Looking forward to the meet regardless of the weather:cool:
Kyle:
Given our slow rate of speed, the possible wait at the border and the need to feed our kids immediately upon wakening, we will have to eat before we leave and then try to head straight down to the GTG. If you want to cruise in the slow lane let me know!
Kyle Blackmore 03-11-2003, 07:56 PM Hey Greg, we'll see you guys there:D .around noon.
rickg 03-11-2003, 08:00 PM Last nite the weather report still showed rain for saturday, but warmer than last weekend. Just what I'd hoped for, dryer rain!:D

pffff! What do they know?
Want an accurate forecast? Look out the window!!!
Who knows, we just might get squeeze in between low pressure systems. At least its warmer.
rickg 03-12-2003, 04:14 PM Right on, Greg:D Spoken like a true Nor'westerner;) :D
I haven't checked on a covered area down there yet. I looked thru the web sites for reserving facilities at parks and campgrounds, and it sounds a bit 'spensive for groups using one of them. So I think we'll just gamble that one will be open, and I'll stop in at the office when I get there and talk to whoever is there and tell them what's going on, and hope they'll just let us use one since it's off season.
Looking forward to this!:)
Denlasoul 03-12-2003, 09:16 PM I contacted other local people from other forums about this GTG. Hopefully some of them will show too.
See you there!
How late is everyone planning to stay at the GTG, I think I can only stay to around 3-4pm, but I can stay later if anyone else wants to?
Does anyone know how to get to the G.I. Joes in Issaquah? I need to go to one sometime so I can get some of the nice car supplies they carry there :D
Kyle Blackmore 03-15-2003, 12:23 AM Hi Eric, can't help you with the G.I. Joe's but we were planning on staying till around 4 or so.Hopefully there won't be a border wait and we'll be there around noon.
rickg 03-15-2003, 01:34 AM I don't know my way around Issaquah at all any more. It's grown so much the past several years. Didn't even know there was a G.I. Joes there.
I'll stay as late as anyone wants to. Last year I think Kyle, Greg and I were there till almost 6PM if I remember right. But everyone can come and go as they need to. I'll be there about 11AM. If no one is there, I'll cruise around a bit and come back every so often and see who's showed up.
The weather here this afternoon was great! I got home from work and washed the car all nice and shiney. (which means it'll probably rain like hell tomorrow:D )
Fastlane Phil 03-16-2003, 11:09 AM Well everyone, how'd your GTG go up there. Was the weather kind to you? Sorry I couldn't be there to join you. I love that area of Washington.
We got dump'd on yesterday my buckets of rain here in So California. I hope it stays away at least for today.

The GTG was great, a few Unimogs and G-Wagens showed up, and the day for many of us (those of us without them :( ). It didn't rain until around 4pm, when everyone was leaving anyways. We were lucky to have such a nice, sunny day.
