Has anyone worked with H&M Autohaus in Westchester, Manfred Pfeiffer's old shop? If so what was your experience...

Yes. I've had good experiences with H&M. Larry has been the tech that has worked on my 300SDL.

These guys are the best. I really do miss Manfred, the old master, who retired and sold the business to his ace mechanics. He had a dour sense of humor but was always very upfront and honest with me. And boy could he handle a diesel Benz! Can't say enough good things about these people.

Yes, I always liked Manfred as well. We used to call him "good Manfred", because there was another Manfred up in the north suburbs with a different tag. :D I knew him for many years. :thumbsup:

Hey Guys, I took my w126 to these guys based on the recommendations on this site. I must say I was TERRIBLY dissapointed in their service. They had my car for 2 weeks and nothing was done to it. I had asked for an estimate on A/C repair and to diagnose a rough start. The A/C compressor did not have a belt on it when I took it in and I was 100% sure I just needed new injectors for the rough start. (Previous diesel mechanic test the IP) I got a call the next day stating that I needed a new injection pump, new compressor and a tie rod - among other things. When I asked about the belt on the compressor, the mechanic said it was fine! GO FIGURE considering there wasnt a belt on it in the first place. Secondly, they quoted me $2000 for a injection pump rebuild, when mine was perfectly fine. They also quoted me $100 for new shift bushings - stating they were cracked and old! I had just replaced them myself the week before!!! Seems like these guys are out to rip off anyone they can. I would not recommend going there!
