hi...

bridgestone expedias are OEM for C36s but they are really expensive. WR spd rated 245/40/17s are about $257.00 each. what other tires can you recommend? how about the Bridgestone Potenza RE71 ZR spd rated. the same size, they are $131.00 each. How bout Dunlop SP SPort 9000 or sumitomos?

thanks...

The SP9000 is supposed to have all the dry grip of the Sp8000 with much improved wet traction, treadwear, comfort, noise. The 8000 has something of a cult following for a good reason. Had a set of Re71's before, they handled well but were noisy (even for performance tires), wore quickly (to be expected of that age/stage of performance tire), and were "twitchy/unpredictable" at the edge of traction. The SP9000 may be a little tame for a C36 (aggresively driven that is)

After reviewing the Tirerack's menu for 245/40/17 I might be tempted to go with the P-Zeros for $211 a tire or the Yokohama AVS Sport for $171 a tire. Price no object the Michelin MXX3's or the Pilot Sport's. (BFG K/D's as well) would be my top 3 pics.

Hope this helps...Lee

Sumitomos are good enough to trash around. Specially for the price.
